A Time of Asking and Seeking

Elul 17/August 23, 2013—

Hear, O God, when I call with my voice, and be gracious unto me, and answer me.

(Psalm 27:7)

For reflection:  What do you seek?  For what are you asking?  It isn’t that I expect to hear God’s booming voice thundering in my ears, but rather to know that when my prayers bubble up from my soul and I give words to that which I might have hidden from speech until that moment, that God will carry that burden with me.  ‘Answer me’ – Aneini – God, help me to carry this load so that it will be to me as light as a cloud – Anan.  As I call out to God to be heard, let me hear the call of others, and the call of my soul.
