Can You Let Go?

Elul 8/August 14, 2013—

Overlook the slights of others, and your own failings will be forgiven.

(Talmud, Rosh haShanah, 17)

For reflection: Just as when we grasp tightly onto a valued object with no room in the hand to hold anything else, so too it is when we hold onto beliefs and notions that ultimately do not serve us; there is no room to embrace or to be embraced.  Think about one grudge that you hold, of which you are willing to let go. Doing this, know that you have nudged open the gates of forgiveness for yourself just a little wider!
